The AMCB Foundation strives to improve the lives of those in need. These people include those who suffer from poverty and disease or are orphans, refugees, or victims of human trafficking. Our goal is to collaborate with communities in need to provide sustainable solutions.
We operate in two locations: Bangladesh and Greater San Antonio, Texas. Read below to learn more about what we do in each location. |
Bangladesh
Since 2012, the AMCB Foundation has been conducting charitable activities in Bangladesh. The AMCB Foundation focuses on providing charity to needy families and individuals in rural areas. In Bangladesh, many rural areas are much poorer than urban centers. In addition, the majority of foreign aid is directed towards urban areas. As a result, the AMCB Foundation looks to reach those who are less likely to receive help.
Over the course of the last several years, the AMCB Foundation has held free medical clinics throughout several rural areas of Bangladesh. Those clinics have provided medical care and medicine to over 2,500 people.

In addition to the free medical clinics, the AMCB Foundation has nearly completed the first phase of a permanent medical facility and distribution center in a village outside of Dhaka. The facility will be used for our bi-monthly medical clinics.
In addition to medical care, the AMCB Foundation has provided food and blankets to those in need. Our most recent blanket distributions happened in December 2018, and we are planning to expand our efforts in the near future.
The AMCB Foundation is also developing plans for helping Rohingya refugees both in Bangladesh and in Texas. In 2018, several AMCB Foundation Board members and local volunteers visited a Rohingya refugee camp in the Cox’s Bazar district near the Bangladesh-Myanmar border. The visiting team assessed the overall conditions of the refugees in the camp. They also spoke to some of the refugees, along with the Bangladeshi and international charitable organizations working in the camp.

Greater San Antonio
In addition to its charitable activities in Bangladesh, the AMCB Foundation is developing a charitable program in Greater San Antonio.
For the past few years, the AMCB Foundation has conducted charitable activities with other organizations. Members of the AMCB Foundation have directly donated money, volunteered time, or conducted multi-cultural fundraising events for local organizations such as the United Way of Bexar County, the San Antonio Food Bank, the Children’s Shelter, the Arc of San Antonio, and St. PJ’s Children’s Home.

The AMCB Foundation is looking to turn these individual efforts into a coordinated effort in Greater San Antonio. In 2018, the AMCB Foundation participated in the RAWAJ Fashion Extravaganza, which raised money for ABODE Contemplative Care for the Dying. Over the last several months, the AMCB Foundation has begun organizing monthly volunteering events with the San Antonio Food Bank.
While we are working for other organizations in San Antonio, we are also raising funds and recruiting volunteers to hold our own charitable events in Greater San Antonio. Currently, we are developing a program for helping survivors of human trafficking in Greater San Antonio to rebuild their lives to self-sufficiency. Throughout their recovery, many survivors interact with different service systems, such as social service agencies and non-profit service providers. Our goal is to provide non-profit service providers with additional funding and supplies to increases their ability to provide trauma-informed, empowering services to survivors. Along with other groups, we are working to raise public awareness by helping publicize campaigns like the "CAN YOU SEE ME?" event in San Antonio. Our next step is to help provide survivors of human trafficking food, clothing, blankets, toiletries, and school supplies, along with funds for therapy and counseling in collaboration with government agencies and non-profit service providers such as the drop-in-centers, emergency shelters, and transitional shelters. Currently, we are raising funds to help provides these goods. If you are interested in volunteering or helping us out in other ways, send us an email at info@amcbfoundation.org.
